I Have a Decided Heart Part 4

A wise man once said, “A Journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step.”

We meet Columbus on this part of the journey before he found the new world, I am struck by his conviction, his belief, his mission and his non-stop attitude/belief that he would find what he had set out to find.  “I have a decided heart” can mean many things to many people but to me the heart is a precious place a sacred place, where once you give it, there is no turning back.  Giving your heart is an expression used to describe a deep emotional connection between two people where one person offers their feelings and commitment to another person. It is so much bigger than that it is giving to a cause, a purpose… Giving your heart involves trusting and opening up to possibilities, being vulnerable, and allowing yourself to be emotionally invested in it. It is a powerful act of love and can be seen as a sign of significant commitment in a relationship to that task.

Yes, giving your heart often involves sacrifice and commitment. Sacrifice in the sense that you may have to give up some of your own desires or interests to prioritize the needs and wants of the person or commitment you’re giving your heart to. You may have to compromise and make certain adjustments to ensure that the relationship works.

Commitment is also an important part of giving your heart. When you give your heart to something, you are essentially committing to the relationship, and you are willing to put in the effort and work to make it successful. This may mean being there for the other through thick and thin, showing up when they need you, and working through challenges and disagreements or setbacks.

Overall, giving your heart requires a willingness to make sacrifices and a deep commitment to the relationship. It is an expression of love that involves vulnerability and trust, and it can be a very rewarding experience when all stakeholders are willing to put in the effort and work together.
