Countdown is on…the 45th East West Wrestling Tournament and the Wrestling Reunion in New Salem is just days away. Who’s ready to take a trip down memory lane? If anyone has wrestling uniforms prior to the 80’s, please bring to put on display.
Reminder: If you were part of a New Salem wrestling team from the first 10 years (1963-1973), please reach out to Theresa Moravec or Joanne Beckman to RSVP as soon as possible if planning to attend the tournament so we can make enough accommodations for seating.

The Holstein Wrestling Program is sixty years old! To celebrate this milestone, all former and current coaches, wrestlers, stats, cheerleaders and FANS are invited to a wrestling reunion on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
The teams from the first ten years (1963-1973) will be recognized at 3:30 p.m. before the finals of the East-West Tournament in the New Salem – Almont High School Gymnasium.
Following the tournament, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a reunion reception will be held at the New Salem City Auditorium. There will be a short program, a cash bar, light snacks, and a fun evening of reminiscing about six decades of wrestling in the community! For those that do not plan to attend the tournament, the Auditorium will be open at 4:00 p.m.
The 60th Anniversary of the New Salem East-West wrestling tournament begins today! Loaded weight classes from top to bottom if all teams make it out to the home of Salem Sue!
All wrestling fans are invited to the 60th Anniversary of the East-West Wrestling Classic celebration following the tournament on Saturday. The weather looks like it will cooperate if you want to head out and reminisce to help celebrate the milestone!!
