Totally agree. My wrestler was a finalist and honestly couldn’t care less either way as he was just there to wrestle but in the big picture I think about all the younger wrestlers in the stands (and maybe even some grandparents) that would love to see a little flare in hopes that they would keep that in the back of their minds and remember how “cool” it would be to wrestle in the state championship. Other states ex. Nebraska have a tunnel and all the hoopla for their finalists and I promise other than the preparation it did not drag out finals any longer than the boring face offs that we do have before finals. Seriously there was barely even music this year…and it wasn’t even great music at that.
….and seriously could it have been a little colder in the Denny??!?!? It was honestly hard to enjoy wrestling at times because everyone was freezing. My wrestler said it was so cold that he felt like it was hard to get warmed up. What the heck? 🥶🥶🥶
