State dual tournament

Good to see region 3 with 3 teams … KImball would have beaten many of the others as well

I don't have a wrestler in the State Duals; just a fan, but am curious about how the teams were selected and ordered.  Looking at the SDHSAA site, it appears to be Head-to-Head, then common opponents, then power points,..., but that can be confusing.  When does head-to-head become used when three teams beat each other?  What if a team doesn't have many head-to-head match-ups?  It's kind of like NCAA football playoffs, it appears.  Is it a committee in a board room somewhere?

Curious as to how that all shook out in the meeting.  If anyone could give a description, it would appease my curiosity.  Thank you!

605 sports had an article on it… interesting

With State duals having its own weekend now, think it be great to wrestle A & B together. Friday wrestle 2 rounds. B duals, A duals, B duals, A duals. Wrestle each class placing match Saturday morning same order then afternoon wrestle Class A vs Class B champions for an All Class State title.

That's not a bad idea.  You 100% would have to have a different venue than Pierre.  It was pretty tight today.  Watertown was great last year!!!

I didn't see a lot of dodging today in the B's, but heard some talk of it.

I do like it better when head to head of individuals didn't count at the dual tournament.  It made for some great matches that you would not have seen otherwise.
