113 A (2023-24)

Interesting question for all the fellow SD wrestling historians out there:

Is this years 113 A weight class the weakest weight class in the history of South Dakota wrestling?  I have now heard this brought up several times this season in conversations across the state.

Can anyone think of weight class (year) that shaped up even close to as weak competitively as this class?  Every year is different, but we were unable to think of one that even came close in our group discussion.

Credit Due:  Brandon kid (Oehme) is a talented wrestler.

Zebroski just went down to 113 as well, and he is also very talented.

I think rather than look at what weights are weak, can we look at what weights are a bear?  190 looks loaded.  A state finalist is ranked 7th.

Just curious. When did you win 4 state championships and were they all at 189?

For those too lazy to look... It's a young weight class.  Not the weakest in state history, though.

Personally I feel it will be a fun weight class to keep an eye on in the postseason..... and to see who rises to the occasion!

Keep grind'n boys!

If I could put 150# lbs on all those 113 kids they would tech fall every one of the HWTs except Schunke. HWT has been atrocious for years, just because the #1 is good doesn't mean the rest is.
