Where are they going 2021-22

Page 1 of 3Next

Lets get this going early this year and continuing adding as the year goes! I believe I got three that I am aware of:

Damion Schunke (Brandon Valley)  - Arizona State (wrestling)

Kaden Keiser (Winner) - Appalachian State (wrestling)

Luke Rasmussen (Brookings) - South Dakota State (wrestling)

If anyone posting on here knows state finishes and career records, those may be some additional stats people may be interested in seeing. I don't know records, but I believe  state finishes for these first four would go as follows:

Schunke (BV) - (8th) 3, (9th) 1, (10th) 1, (Jr.) INJ, (Sr.) ? - Arizona State (wrestling)

Keiser (WIN) - (7th) 6, 2, 1, 1, 1, ? - Appalachian State (wrestling)

Rasmussen (BRK) - (9th) 7, 2, 1, ? - South Dakota State (wrestling)

Graf (RCS) - (9th) 4, 1, 1, ? - South Dakota State (wrestling)

Kaden Keiser  229-22

Kaden Keiser  229-22

Keiser (WIN) - (7th) 6, 2, 1, 1, 1, ? - (Current Career Record) 229-22 - Appalachian State (wrestling)

Assuming Keiser gets 45 matches or so, will this put him close to the state career wins record (not interested in separating by class)? Or at least top 10? (I realize in another forum we spoke about how state records need a serious update, but let's just venture a guess for fun!)

Not sure what the career win record is.  Here is what I could find: Cory Wallman, Marion-Freeman 264-8 and Logan Storley, Webster 262-3.  Might be someone with more?

Well back on the main SD page on the forum covering state records (I believe started by you, Coach Schuyler), there were multiple recent names that come to mind that were no where to be found (ex = Kelly March, Cael Larson (RCC), and Nash Hutmatcher). All had multiple undefeated seasons with close to or more than 50 matches a season. March and Hutmacher set state and national pin records that are not on there as well.

Either way, 45-50 matches this season would probably put Keiser in top 5 if not at 1 or 2.

Using final results from Trackwrestling, I went back and try to compile some sort of current career records for the other three commits. Couldn't find any high school results for Graf as an 8th grader while @ Custer, and I also included a 1-2 record listed for Rasumssen as an 8th grader. Keep in mind Schunke had a 0-0 record as a Junior due to injury.

Schunke (BV) - (8th) 3, (9th) 1, (10th) 1, (Jr.) INJ, (Sr.) ? - (Current Career Record) 125-7 - Arizona State (wrestling)

Keiser (WIN) - (7th) 6, 2, 1, 1, 1, ? - 229-22 - Appalachian State (wrestling)

Rasmussen (BRK) - (9th) 7, 2, 1, ? - 81-18 - South Dakota State (wrestling)

Graf (RCS) - (9th) 4, 1, 1, ? - 104-9 - South Dakota State (wrestling)

Storley lost to Corey Ulmer- South Border, ND as a 7th grader and Preston Lehman- West Fargo, ND as a senior. Who was the third loss to? What year was he? If it was in 7th/8th grade he must have had a pretty tremendous consecutive wins streak.

I know we used to have some of those records listed on the old Grappler site before it went down/ I'd love to see them again like most season & career pins, season & career wins, season & career takedowns ect...

Storley lost to brock Edgar his 8th grade year.

Zach blindert from MCM owns the record last I knew for career victories. It was over 270 though I think. Coach Andal could say for sure.

I'm not Coach Andal, but here is the MCM Career Win Record list, as of the 2018-2019 season.

I think the Klapprodt(sorry spelling) kid from Rapid City Stevens broke Blinderts Win Record.
